PDR was established as industry solution on behalf of its proprietors (producers of PU foam cans). The aim of the company PDR is the protection of the environment and the sustainability. The raw materials and products regained from the cans are capitalized and arrive again at the production loop.

Legal basis:
According to the packaging ordinances, used PU foam cans are classified as contaminated packing and so, a substantial utilisation is demanded. You can read the wording of the law of the packing ordinance §§ 3 and 7 on the page “All about PU foam”, subitem “Legal Guidelines”. In terms of the circular flow economy and Waste Management Law, the reputable European producers of PU foam pledged themselves together with PDR to integral responsibility as demanded in § 22.

5) What am I supposed to do with hardened PU foam remainders?

The hardened PU foam is environmentally neutral and therefore non hazardous. It can be disposed via residual waste.

6) What are you doing with the PU foam cans?

PDR supplies the used PU foam cans to the substantial disposal. More than 95 % of the can and its remaining ingredients can be regained as raw materials and products. For further information, see also on our homepage point 4: products and point 4.1.1: substantial waste.

7) What does “PDR” mean?

PDR stands for “PRODUKTE DURCH RECYCLING” (“Products Through Recycling”). For further information, see also on our homepage point 4: products.

8) How do the cardboard boxes have to be packed?

Please, put the used PU foam cans upright into the original cardboard boxes and respectably return cardboard boxes which you receive from PDR and seal the cardboard boxes with sticky tape. Please, fill the empty spaces in the cardboard boxes with fillers to avoid a falling of the cans while transported.

9) What about return markers?

At the amount of 1 – 5 cardboard boxes with used PU foam cans the collection is carried out by DHL. Please, ask in this case for return markers at PDR. PDR fills them out for you completely and sends them to you. Please, stick them on the sealed cardboard boxes and hand them over to DHL. The dispatch is thus free of charge.
