Due to their good insulation properties, PU foams are the “most economical” insulation material concerning the consumption as they need less resources due to less material usage. The energy consumption is reduced by the sealing of heat leaks in the window and door installation, fossil fuels are preserved and the pollutant emission is reduced.
One frequently underestimated contribution of PU foam cans to the conservation of resources is their low transport volume. A single 750 ml can of PU foam can generate at maximum extension 60 litres of foam, i.e. 80 times its original volume. A single lorry loaded with PU foam cans would transport about the same insulation effect as a convoy of up to 80 lorries carrying this quantity in foamed condition. The result: diesel fuel, pollutant emissions, noise and traffic charging are saved 79 times over.
