PDR was established in 1993 as joint-venture of the leading European PU foam manufacturers. The objective was to create a cross-industry collection and recycling system for used polyurethane (PU) foam cans. Meanwhile, the company – based in Thurnau, northern Bavaria –has built up a second leg to stand on as provider of high-grade recycling solutions: as European partner of Hewlett Packard for the take-back and recycling of HP ink-jet cartridges. For both products, PDR has developed the recycling technology in collaboration with competent research institutes and built a recycling plant. The company employs approximately 60 staff members.

In order to prove its quality demands, the company underwent a series of examinations. The process-oriented management system was inspected and accredited by Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen mbH (German Association for Accreditation of Management Systems Ltd.) concerning.

Anymore PDR was certified by public utility Hertie-foundation to berufundfamilie.

In addition, PDR implemented a risk management.

Due to its transparent work flows, PDR is released of certain obligations to produce supporting documents according to the Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act.
